What better way to start the New Year than with the achievement of a major milestone. With the Design work complete, EMMS moves to the Configuration & Prototype stage. Planon's technical team will begin the first of two configurations prior to beginning the Testing stage.
This month, the EMMS team is busy at work getting everything wrapped up before the holidays. The Planon elves will be working during the holiday break to configure UBC's application. In January, the EMMS team will review Planon configurations prior to beginning the testing stage.
Work continues on determining how UBC will configure Planon to meet UBC's business needs. Phase 1 stakeholders are participating in Design Meetings to review Planon functionality by business area. Functional Specification documents will be developed for use by Planon's development team to build on Planon's out-of-the-box solution.
This month, the EMMS team is working with the business to determine how UBC will use Planon functionality, preparing data for upload in several iterations to Planon and assessing technical integrations between Planon and other applications such as Workday, Archibus and ArcGIS.
In August, our priority is to firm up decisions related to the Planon functionality that will be released in Stream 1 with April 2020. The high level design process is working through a number of business and operational decisions to ensure business continuity and for alignment with Workday.
In July, we jump into Planon's Accelerator Workshops to see delivered functionality to determine how UBC will configure Planon to meet UBC's operational needs. From July 16-26, approximately 100 people will be participating in these sessions.
The Planon team is now on site at UBC. In June, the priorities include a kick-off with Process and Outcomes Committee members and Business Functional Leads, validation of business objectives and creation of a project plan to Planon Go Live in April 2020.
We are officially underway on our road to Planon. With the contract signed, our focus in May is to accelerate Planon's understanding of UBC by sharing the current state process mapping outcomes and an overview of UBC's operational environment. Planon's Initiate Phase will include the EMMS team and Phase 1 stakeholders (Building Operations, Energy and Water Services and Chemistry Stores). UBC and Planon will co-create a project plan to guide our collective work leading up to go live in April 2020.
